For windfoiling and using the ProFOIL.F1/ SELECT, safety equipment is REQUIRED :

Safety equipment :
• Wearing an approved helmet / RISK OF IMPACT
• Wearing an impact vest / RISK OF IMPACT
• Wearing protective boots / RISK OF CUTTING
• Wearing a wetsuit with long legs / RISK OF CUTTING

Propulsion of the windfoil :
A board fitted with a windfoil cannot be towed: > THE ONLY MEANS OF PROPULSION IS A WINDSURF SAIL.

Knowledge and recognition of the spot :
Do not rush and always take the time to identify the sailing area.
Make sure the water is deep enough.
Identify all the possible risks of collision (buoys, fishing nets, divers, shallow areas, other surfers, etc.)
Make sure the wind and sea conditions are not too severe for windfoiling.

Knowledge of the risk of sailing on windfoils :
In the learning phase: limit yourself to standing when starting out (setting off with uphaul line).
If you lose control, do not attempt to eject but accompany the rig during the fall, without letting go of the wishbone.

Setting off in waterstart = risk of cutting

Look at the windfoil under the board and keep in mind that the foil is deployed over a width of about 80 cm, at an approximate depth of one metre under the hull.
The trailing edges and the ends of the front wings and stabilizer are extremely fine and can cause a risk of major cuts.

Pour la pratique du windfoil et l’utilisation du ProFOIL.F1, l’équipement de sécurité est obligatoire :

Équipement de sécurité :

Port d’un casque homologué / RISQUE DE CHOC
Port d’un gilet d’impact / RISQUE DE CHOC
Port des Botillons / RISQUE DE COUPURE
Port d’une combinaison jambes longues / RISQUE DE COUPURE

Propulsion du windfoil :

Un flotteur équipé d’un windfoil ne peut pas être considéré comme un engin à tracter :
> LE SEUL MOYEN DE PROPULSION EST UNE VOILE DE WINDSURF.

Connaissance et reconnaissance du spot :

Ne pas se précipiter et toujours prendre le temps d’identifier la zone de navigation.
S’assurer que la hauteur d’eau est suffisante.
Identifier tous les risques de collisions éventuelles (Bouée, filet de pèche, chasseur sous-marin, haut-fond, autres
pratiquants, etc…)
S’assurer que les conditions de vent et de mer ne sont pas trop fortes pour pratiquer le windfoils.

Connaissance du risque de navigation en windfoil :

En phase d’apprentissage : se limiter au départ débout (départ au tire veille).
En cas de perte de contrôle ne pas tenter de s’éjecter mais accompagner le gréement pendant la chute, sans lâcher le wishbone.

Départ en waterstart = risque de coupure

Bien visualiser le windfoil sous la planche et avoir à l’esprit que le foil est déployé sur une largeur d’environ 80 cm,
à une profondeur approximative d’un mètre sous la carène.
Les bords de fuite et les extrémités des ailes avant et stabilisateur sont extrêmement fins et peuvent engendrer des risques de coupures importantes.
